On New Year’s Eve 2026, Palace Square became the center of the city’s celebrations, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors. Contemporary lighting technologies and LED installations transformed the familiar urban space, with Petersburg Stories as the central theme of the night. As part of the project, our team developed visual content for the multimedia design elements.

[ about ]
The 360° installation took the form of an LED cylinder measuring 4 meters in height and 7.5 meters in diameter, featuring seamless video content across its entire surface. Visitors were able to move freely around the object, discovering new visual details from every angle.
Ice Rink
The “Ice Rink” scene was designed in a cartoon-inspired style and filled with multiple parallel micro-stories unfolding simultaneously. Different moments played out on the ice at once: some were playing hockey, others were having coffee by the rink boards, Father Frost was lighting the New Year tree while parents taught a child to skate, and someone kept trying to get back on their feet after a fall.

The composition was structured to constantly shift the viewer’s focus between details. The scene had no single focal point — each new angle revealed a different set of events. This encouraged visitors to move around the installation, observing the action from all sides and discovering more and more stories within the larger festive tableau.

New Year Train
The “New Year Train” scene unfolded as a two-level animated world inspired by the imagery of a children’s railway. Built from recognizable locations of Saint Petersburg, it was unified by the atmosphere of a winter fairytale. Trains carrying gifts moved continuously around the installation, while small narrative episodes revealed themselves at different points along the route.

By following the train, visitors gradually discovered new details and stories. This proved especially engaging for children, who ran around the cylinder, eager not to miss the festive train as it made its way along the track.

Carousel
The “Carousel” scene transformed the LED cylinder into a New Year attraction. A mechanical structure with horses — a symbol of the coming year — unfolded around the perimeter of the installation.

The composition was built on repetition of forms, symmetry, and smooth motion, creating a continuous sense of rotation.

House of Wonders
A three-dimensional LED installation assembled from seamless screens and a decorative roof. The concept was proposed by the creative director of TRIPHAD studio and brought to life by the event organizers.

The structure formed a volumetric object designed to be experienced not only from the front, but also from the sides. The video content enabled multiple perception scenarios — from an illuminated façade adorned with garlands to an icy log house and a gingerbread-style cottage.

Snow Globe
An LED photo zone with mirrored decor. The visual content was developed with a Saint Petersburg theme in mind: animated backgrounds featuring recognizable city imagery created a sense of depth and served as a backdrop for memorable New Year photographs.
